Southbourne Community Sussex Fete
Our Community Sussex Fete is being organised and stalls are being booked NOW.
I am very grateful to St John’s who have kindly given permission to use their garden again. We had a very successful friendly event there last year with 25 stalls around the church and it is possible we may have 30 this year.
Mostly they are fundraising local groups and there is no charge. The couple of private stalls pay 10%. The church make no charge for the use of the garden, and the profit from the Southbourne calendar will cover the advertising posters, banner and programme costs as well as the website.
Stalls include, Tombola, Face painting, plants, bric-a-brac, books, cakes, crafts, games etc. To entertain us we have The Old Fogies Ukulele Band and Il Campane, the prize winning Girls’ Choir with Rebecca Cooke.
It is in the Festival of Chichester programme again and Southbourne has two other events included. Our Midsummer Concert on 27th June organised by Bourne College and held at the Leisure Centre. Started as part of the Southbourne Celebrates weekend in June 2012 for the Queen’s Jubilee, it has continued with ever increasing support. Southbourne’s Last Night of the Proms, so be prepared to join in the singing and bring your flag. Tuppenny Barn Open Afternoon on Sunday 28th is also a popular event with various stalls and an opportunity to see the inspiring education centre and tour of the organic smallholding.I am in the process of compiling the Southbourne What’s On, now in its 4th year, so if you have an event between May and September you would like included please email me firstname.lastname@example.org.
